Best Buy return policy

15 days

15 days for most products (60 days for My Best Buy Plus/Total members). Phones and other activatable devices: 14 days (Verizon devices: 30).

The basics

Holidays: Purchases Oct 30 – Dec 31, 2026 can be returned until Jan 15, 2027 (members: Jan 31, 2027 for Oct 30 – Dec 3 purchases). Phones/activatable devices and holiday decorations are excluded.
How: Bring it to any Best Buy store, or print a free prepaid FedEx label from your account.

Fees

Activatable devices (except prepaid phones): $45 restocking fee.
Drones, cameras, lenses, projectors, premium scooters, special orders and a few others: 15% restocking fee.
No restocking fee if unopened, or in AL, CO, HI, IA, MS, OH, OK, SC.

Can't be returned

Custom/personalized orders, Final Sale items, digital content, gift cards and prepaid cards, trading cards, e-bikes
Once opened: SIM kits, LEGO, consumables (batteries, ink, filters, supplements)

The catch

The clock starts the day you receive the product.
Must be like-new: scratched, dented or missing parts can be refused.
Big TVs (over 50") and major appliances can't be shipped back. Take them to a store.
