How do I cancel Nintendo Switch Online?

Steps

1. Go to accounts.nintendo.com/portal and sign in with the Nintendo Account that bought the membership.
2. Select Nintendo Switch Online.
3. In the Active Plan section, select Cancel Your Pass by Turning Off Auto-Renewal, then confirm.

What happens

Charges stop

Turn auto-renewal off at least 48 hours before the membership expires. The membership then runs to the end of its term.

Refund

No refunds and no credit for the time left on the subscription.

The catch

• Once auto-renewal is off, it cannot be turned back on.
• Only the account that bought the membership can change the setting.
• On a console instead: open Nintendo eShop from the HOME Menu, select the account that bought the plan, open Account Information from your icon in the top right, then select Cancel Your Subscription by Turning Off Automatic Renewal.
• Save Data Cloud backup stops working when the membership ends. Start a new membership within 180 days and you get the cloud saves back. Saves on the console itself are unaffected.
• On a family membership, everyone else in the family group loses the service too.
• Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers need an active paid membership to redeem, but survive until they expire.
• Custom Nintendo Switch Online user icons you made stay yours.
