How do I cancel Xbox Game Pass?

Steps

1. Go to the Subscriptions page of your Microsoft account and sign in with the account that bought the subscription.
2. Find the subscription and select Manage.
3. Select Cancel subscription and follow the instructions. If you qualify for a refund, you are offered the choice to cancel at once with that refund.

Turning off recurring billing stops future charges and leaves the benefits running until the expiry date.

Refund

A refund is possible within 30 days of the first purchase, or before the first recurring charge, whichever comes first. You can also get the most recent recurring charge back if you cancel within 30 days of it, but only once per Microsoft account per subscription product.

The catch

• On a console instead: press the Xbox button, then Profile & system, Settings, Account, Subscriptions, pick the subscription and select Cancel subscription.
• If the page shows 'Turn on recurring billing' instead of Manage, the subscription is already set to expire on the date shown and will not be charged again.
• Prepaid retail subscription codes are not covered by this refund policy. They follow the return rules of the shop that sold the code.
• Paying for someone else's subscription? The owner of that Microsoft account has to sign in and cancel it.
• Billed by a third party? Contact them, not Microsoft.
• Finland, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland and Portugal get a prorated refund of the last renewal charge on terms longer than a month. Canada, Denmark, France, Israel, Korea and Turkiye get one on the last charge.
• A price change is announced at least 30 days ahead, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
